Title: Jebat

Role: Martial Artist Ensemble

Synopsis: Jebat is a play about a person called Jebat, who is caught in a moral dilemma between loyalty to his king and his own desire for freedom, love, and respect. The play is set in a post-apocalyptic Malaysia, where constant war and strife abound. The story follows the life and tragic death of Jebat, and unfolds the plight of Hang Tuah's loyalty to his king as opposed to Jebat's desire for freedom. The tragedy culminates in a heart-breaking scene where the two protagonists reluctantly fight to the death.

Your Role: I was part of the martial artist ensemble, which performs a variety of silat and mixed martial arts battle scenes. You will also need to be able to move and fight in a coordinated and believable way.

Production Details: Jebat is the Actors Studio's biggest production for 2023, and boasts almost 40 performers on stage. The play will feature specially composed live music, amazing sets and costumes, multimedia design, and more.
Audience: Jebat is a thought-provoking and exciting retelling of a classic tale. It is suitable for audiences of all ages.
